From the Tuesday evening video pile: Oasis Radio Group's Rhythmic/WHPP (106.3fm, Columbia City) "Rewind 106.3 Studio Tour."

In our next issue, we'll continue our translator and LPFM survey, along with updating you on where to find a former Evansville morning man on the radio dial.

In November 2013, Connection Point Church (formerly Bethel Christian Life Center) sold the CP to 88.9fm (licensed to Battle Ground) to Christian Radio Friends, Inc. for $5000. Now, the CP has an application to move transmitter sites, which means a power adjustment. Here are the details: The CP specified 21,000 watts at 67 feet from a transmitter site just south of IN-38, along I-65. Then, an application went in back in December to move transmitter sites, to the same site as Artistic Media Partners' Adult Hits/WBPE (95.3fm, Brookston), north of Battle Ground, just east of IN-43. From that site, the CP would lower power to 3500 watts but raise the antenna to 486 feet. A new application lowers the antenna and raises the power to compensate, from the same WBPE transmitter site, and the lower power means they can go non directional, instead of directional. From this site, they should adequately cover Lafayette and West Lafayette.

Hoosier Broadcasting Corp. earns a CP for W279CL (103.7fm, Anderson). As proposed, W279CL will broadcast 38 watts @ 194 feet (horizontal only) from the same tower as an Indiana Community Radio Corp. translator and Anderson University's WQME (98.7fm, Anderson).

LIN Media's CBS affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) extends its 10pm newscast on sister MyNetworkTV affiliate WNDY-TV (Channel 23, Indianapolis) to a full hour. Eric Halvorson and Brooke Martin anchor the newscast along with meteorologist Robb Ellis and sports director Anthony Calhoun.

Educational Media Foundation may soon earn a CP for translator W271CA (102.1fm, Noblesville). As proposed, W271CA would run 13 watts at 359 feet (Horizontal only) from the same tower as Inter Mirifica's Catholic Religious/WSQM (90.9fm, Noblesville), which is the former WHMB-TV transmitter site along IN-238, southeast of Noblesville. Petitions to Deny are due by 21 January 2014.

Where Are They Now? Former WRZX PD Lenny Diana will become PD for Saga's radio stations in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mr. Diana replaces Rob Cressman who recently became OM for Clear Channel's Indianapolis radio stations, including WRZX.

Good Shepherd Radio earns a CP for W266CH (101.1fm, Seymour). As proposed, W266CH will run 28 watts at 84 feet (horizontal only) from a tower in downtown Seymour, just south of US-50.

More LPFMs: St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington applies for an LPFM on 104.1fm in Bloomington. As proposed, the LPFM will be on the same tower as W240AT; that's the Sarkes Tarzian 95.9fm translator for its N-T/WGCL (1370am, Bloomington).

An IRW reader reports that there are color bars on Roberts Broadcasting's WAZE-LP (Channel 17, Evansville), as it will soon become an ION Media Networks owned-and-operated station.

Cromwell Radio Group earns a CP for W254CC (98.7fm, Owensboro, Kentucky). As proposed, W254CC will run 250 watts at 344 feet (horizontal only) from the WVJS(AM) and FM translator W263BG tower just north of Henderson Road on the west side of Owensboro.
