We now know what Union Broadcasting will do with newly acquired WLCL (93.9fm, Sellersburg). After paying Cumulus $3.138 million, WLCL will launch Thursday with a sports format, calling itself "93.9 The Ville." Morning host Drew Deener will cover local sports and move over from sister station WHBE. John Ramsey continues the local discussion in afternoon drive (3pm until 6pm). ESPN programming will augment the rest of the day. With Union already owning two Louisville ESPN stations, this station will focus more on The University of Louisville, and the university will be partners in this new venture.

Let's try this again: Hoosier Broadcasting Corp. sells its WIRE (91.1fm, Lebanon) for $205,000 to Frankfort-based Community Radio Partners, headed by former Indianapolis broadcaster Brent Lee. Ed Roehling of Roehling Broadcast Services, Ltd. brokered the deal.

With Cumulus flipping format to Classic Hip Hop on its WRWM (93.9fm, Lawrence), afternoon host McKinzie Roth exits. Yesterday, Ms. Roth joined the morning show at KUPL in Portland, Oregon.

Speaking of WRWM, it rebrands as "93.9 The Beat," with a new web presence.

In 2005, Country/WLFW (93.5fm, Chandler) flipped formats to Country. Yesterday at Noon (Central Time), WLFW changed formats to Classic Country, as "Duke FM." This is the Envision Radio Networks' "Legends" format. WLFW also drops "The Bobby Bones Show." Of note: When WLFW owner Midwest Communications flipped a Terre Haute radio station to this format, the station received brand new calls: WDKE. IRW doesn't see that happening in Evansville, since Townsquare Media already has the WDKS call letters.

Also around Evansville: Midwest Communications' AC/WIKY (104.1fm, Evansville) APD Rob Calhoun exits. Mr. Calhoun worked for years in Evansville radio. Midwest Communications' Classic Rock/WABX (107.5fm, Evansville) afternooner Sean Roberts exits for a to-be-announced Florida gig.
