Indiana RadioWatch: August 7, 2017
In a story you'll first read about here, Dan Baisden ("Dan Kennedy") joins for weekends/fill-in at Adams Radio Group's AC/WWFW (103.9fm, Fort Wayne) under fellow Ohio native (and "103.9 Sunny FM" PD) Robbie Mack. For several years, Mr. Baisden programmed and was behind the microphone at crosstown Sarkes Tarzian Hot AC/WAJI (95.1fm, Fort Wayne).
At Neuhoff Media's Country/WKOA-FM (105.3fm, Lafayette), afternoon drive host Jay Rush exits. Dave Patrick moves to afternoons. At sister Classic Hits/WASK-FM (98.7fm, Battle Ground), Dave Patrick moves from afternoons to nights. Finally, Shamus returns to mornings alongside Annie James on "K-105" ("Shamus and Annie"). Shamus had handled middays on "K-105" for nearly a year.
In a story you'll first read about here, Adams Radio Group (Valparaiso) promotes Alycia Tassone from part time to full time. Ms. Tassone now does afternoon traffic reports for the cluster, and contributes in the newsroom.
On Friday evening, police arrested Entercom's CHR/WZPL (99.5fm, Greenfield) afternoon host Zach Babb ("Zakk On Air") after he crashed his SUV into another vehicle driven by an Indianapolis chef and restaurateur. The Indianapolis Star reports that Mr. Babb (age 29) faces two counts of OWI. Mr. Babb has a Wednesday (August 9) court appearance. Entercom hasn't said whether Mr. Babb still works for WZPL, but a late Sunday evening WZPL website check shows "zpl" as the host from 3pm until 7pm.
