Indiana RadioWatch: October 27, 2001
A note from the TV files as News Director Ray Wilck departs NBC affiliate WKJG-TV (Channel 33, Fort Wayne).
LPFM Watch: New Castle Broadcasting Service, Inc. is granted an LPFM CP on 107.5fm (licensed to...? You guessed it - New Castle).
Last Tuesday, a new format debuted on MyStar's Standards/WMYS (1430am, Indianapolis), as it flips format to News-Talk as WXNT. Jerry Baker (afternoons at WMYS) has exited. According to The Indianapolis Star's Marc Allan,
Baker, a former play-by-play man for the NBA's Indiana Pacers, had worked at WMYS for the past 3 years.
Finally, the station rolls out a new website at http://www.newstalk1430.com/
Marty Pieratt swaps Hot AC/WWWY (104.9fm, Columbus) with White River Broadcasting. In return, Pieratt gets Talk/WNVI (1460am, North Vernon). No financial terms announced. On the programming side, WNVI drops its simulcast with WCSI
(1010am, Columbus) for an adult standards format. More on this story in the coming weeks.
That's it for this issue. See you in a week!
