Changes to Artistic Media's WHLY/WJVA (1620am/1580am, both South Bend) as WHLY's calls and Standards format move back to 1580am. WHLY flipped frequencies with WJVA in early 1999. As for the 1620am, at 1pm Friday, it debuted as WDND "South Bend's ESPN Radio 1620" under GM Shel Leshner.

As promised, IRW has more to share about the swap of WWWY and WNVI. Last week, we told you about Marty Pieratt swapping Hot AC/WWWY (104.9fm, Columbus) with White River Broadcasting for Talk/WNVI (1460am, North Vernon). Additionally, WNVI is now doing standards as it's dropped the Talk format simulcast with White River sister WCSI (1010am, Columbus). We learned this week that the entire airstaff is gone, including Jay & Rachel Foyst (mornings) and Jeff Hollan (afternoons). Jay Foyst & Jeff Hollan are now selling for Pieratt's sister stations Hot AC/WRZQ (107.3fm, Greensburg), and Country/WYGB (102.9fm, Edinburgh). WWWY is now broadcasting Westwood One's "Bright AC" format, except for mornings, which is covered by White River's sister Oldies/WINN (106.1fm, North Vernon) midday guy Mike "Sully" Sullivan.

Employment Opportunities

We are interested in talking to someone about lease managing our commercial radio station at 96.7fm. Anyone interested, contact Phillip Smith, Broadcast Faculty, Vincennes University.

That's it for this issue. See you in a week!
