Station History

104.9fm signed on July 25, 1977. In March 1998, Covered Bridge Broadcasting, Inc. sold WAXI to Crossroads Communications, Inc. for $485,000. Former Chicago Cubs radio affiliate. Studios formerly located at 1301 Ohio Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807-3925 (Telephone: 812.234.9770). In July 2012, Crossroads Communications, Inc. sold WAXI for $300,000 to DLC Media, Inc. Formerly a Cumulus Media Networks ("True Oldies Channel with Scott Shannon") affiliate. At Noon on June 24, 2014, WAXI flipped formats from "True Oldies" to Westwood One's "Good Time Oldies."
