Kankakee Valley Broadcasting's Country/WKVI and Hot AC/WKVI-FM (1520am, 99.3fm, both Knox) GM Jerry Curtis exits. On Monday, Mark Evans debuted in nights at Sarkes Tarzian's Classic Hits/WLDE (101.7fm, Fort Wayne).

Star Educational Media Network's Religious/WLAB (88.3fm, Fort Wayne) moved transmitter sites and increased power. Formerly broadcasting at 3200 watts ERP from from the WFWA-TV tower on Butler Road, WLAB moved west to a new tower across Hillegas Road. WLAB increased power to 7500 watts ERP from the same tower site as Adams Radio Group's AC/WWFW (103.9fm, Fort Wayne).

Federated Media's N-T/WOWO and WOWO-FM (1190am, 92.3fm; both Fort Wayne) PD Ryan Reker adds PD duties at sister ESPN affiliate Sports/WKJG (1380am, Fort Wayne) and Talking Stick Communications' Sports/WFGA (106.7fm, Hicksville, Ohio).

Cumulus' Hot AC/WRWM (93.9fm, Lawrence) flips format to Classic Hip Hop, continuing on-air as "i94" under PD Jay Michaels. Will that format change trigger a reaction from competitors?

January 1: In 1950, 91.9fm, Huntington signs on as WVSH, and it remains WVSH today. Also in 1950, WWNI (97.5fm, Wabash) signs off after about a year. In 1970, what was then 92.7fm, Lafayette (now WKHY) signs on. Also in 1970, WNAP (93.1fm, Indianapolis) began broacdasting in stereo. In 1977, WEVC becomes WUEV (91.5fm, Evansville). In 1996, 94.7fm, New Albany signs on (we believe as WAJE). It's now WFIA-FM. In 2007, WYFX (106.7fm, Mount Vernon) flipped formats from country to sports.

January 2: In 2013, WXNT (1430am, Indianapolis) flipped formats from talk to sports. In 2002, Jim Allgeier became the GM of then-WFWI and WBYR in Fort Wayne.

January 4: In 1993, 91.3fm, Bloomington (now WFHB) signs on.

January 6: In 1948, 1480am, Terre Haute (now WPFR) signs on.

January 7: In 1960, 92.3fm, Bloomington (now WTTS) signs on.

Broadcast Engineer (Support Staff)

Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the support staff position of Broadcast Engineer. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and Director of Operations for WVUT & WVUB. The position is responsible for on-air quality control, end user technical support and equipment installation and maintenance/repair in a state-of-the-art broadcast/media environment. This is a full-time support staff position with benefits. Standard schedule is Mondaythrough Friday, 2nd Shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Set up, operate, and maintain radio and television broadcast equipment

* Installation and wiring of broadcast and IT based broadcast systems

* Provide quality services to all departments within Vincennes University's Electronic Media

* Provide Emergency service as required to restore broadcast operations.

* Must be able to lift 50 pounds with reaching overhead, bending and twisting

* Must hold a valid driver's license

Required Qualifications:

* Associates Degree in Electronics, IT, Broadcasting, or related field

* Prior audio and video or electronics experience

* Ability to use common broadcast equipment

* Working knowledge of computer systems and networking

Desired Qualifications:

* 3-5 years of general work experience in a broadcast environment

* Have knowledge of digital and high definition studio equipment, ENG & EFP cameras and gear

* Excellent customer service skills with attention to details

* Have experience working with remote broadcast equipment

* Have knowledge in broadcast RF transmission equipment
