Northeast

Northeast Indiana Broadcasting's Classic Hits/WAWK (1140am, Kendallville) and translator W238BH (95.5fm, Kendallville) promotes several:

GM John O'Rourke exits. Steve "Tiny" Michaels becomes PD and remains in mornings. Mike Shultz continues in middays. Dan "Boogie" Knight becomes afternoon host. Fred Inniger replaces Mr. O'Rourke as GM.

Federated Media's ESPN affiliate Sports/WKJG (1380am, Fort Wayne) adds an FM presence with the $85,000 purchase of translator CP W265CY (100.9fm, Fort Wayne) from American Family Association. The translator has been built and already signed on earlier this year. Broker for seller American Family Association is Rob Branch.

After many years with the radio station, Bott Broadcasting's Religious/WFCV (1090am, Fort Wayne) and WFCV-FM (100.1fm, Bluffton) OM Kathy McClish retires. WFCV added that FM presence in the Summer of 2011.

Northcentral

Educational Media Foundation's Contemporary Christian/WIKV (89.3fm, Plymouth) applies to the FCC for a power increase from 1400 watts to 3500 watts, but from only 203 feet (down from their current 249 feet). WIKV will remain at the same tower site, just south of US 30 on the west side of Plymouth.

Central

Radio One wins its case against former employee Kelly Vaughn. In 2014, former Gospel/WTLC (1310am, Indianapolis) News Anchor Kelly Vaughn filed suit in federal court, alleging Radio One discriminated against her when they fired her, but not a male host, over issues involving a proposed TV show. Ms. Vaughn had developed the proposed TV show with the now late Amos Brown. The summary said Radio One did not discriminate against Vaughn. You can read the entire judgment.

Emmis Communications' N-T/WIBC (93.1fm, Indianapolis) welcomes Chris Davis as their new News Director for WIBC and Network Indiana. Mr. Davis last worked for four years as News Director of the state wide News Mississippi Network. That network served 60 affiliates. Mr. Davis replaces Mike Wilson, who exited to join Comcast as their Director of PR in Indiana.

Media General's CW affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) adds The Justice Network on its 8.3 subchannel, replacing local weather radar.

Radio One's Rhythmic CHR/WHHH (96.3fm, Indianapolis) drops the syndicated Russ Parr morning show and replaces it with the syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Radio One's Reach Media syndicates both Mr. Parr and Mr. Smiley.

iHeartMedia/Indianapolis SVP/Programming Rob Cressman resigns after two years with the cluster. Mr. Cressman programmed Country/WUBG (98.3fm, Plainfield) which launched July 17, 2015. Dayton, Ohio-based RPM Tony Tilford will handle Cressman's duties for now.

E.W. Scripps' ABC affiliate WRTV-TV (Channel 6, Indianapolis) Morning EP Shawn Reynolds exits for the News Director chair at WTVM-TV in Columbus, Georgia.

Westcentral

Forcht Broadcasting's Country/WCDQ (106.3fm, Crawfordsville) has a new morning host: Shania Harrison. Ms. Harrison hosts from 7am until 10am each morning. She will attend Indiana State University in the fall. Oh, and she's 17, which might make her the youngest morning show host in America.

First Ventures Capital Partners sells translator W208BT (89.5fm, Spencer) for $35,000 to Samuel Stratemeyer. There's a CP to move this translator from 89.5fm to 100.3fm.

Southcentral

First Ventures Capital Partners sells their translator W270BH (101.9fm, Bloomington) to Indiana University for $45,000. With this sale, there's also an FCC application to increase the power to 250 watts at 696 feet.

Southwest

Raycom Media's NBC affiliate WFIE-TV (Channel 14, Evansville) welcomes Joe Schlaerth as News Director. Mr. Schlaerth was most recently News Director at WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York.

Nexstar ABC affiliate WEHT-TV (Channel 25, Evansville) and Mission Broadcasting's CW affiliate WTVW (Channel 7, Evansville) welcomes Curt Molander as VP/GM. Mr. Molander last worked as an account executive with Comcast Spotlight. He also has GM stripes (NBC affiliate WJHG-TV/CBS affiliate, low power WECP-LD in Panama City, Florida).
