Good Afternoon from Las Vegas.

Let's start with something that just broke.

Emmis Communications will end its relationship with Premiere Radio Networks. That means N-T/WIBC (93.1fm, Indianapolis) will drop Rush Limbaugh on 3 July. WIBC added Mr. Limbaugh in the early 1990s.

Sometime in May, News Director and Chief Meteorologist Steve Bray will exit Media General's CW affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis). Mr. Bray will remain with the TV station until the May sweeps conclude. Mr. Bray joined WISH TV in early 1995 and four years later, he became chief meteorologist. After several other promotions, Mr. Bray became News Director in 2012, replacing Patti McGettigan.

Peter Neumann, news director at Granite Broadcasting's NBC affiliate WISE-TV (Channel 33, Fort Wayne) and Malara Broadcast Group's ABC affiliate WPTA-TV (Channel 21, Fort Wayne) announced he will retire on 29 May. Mr. Neumann joined WPTA/WISE nearly a decade ago.

An excerpt from what Mr. Neumann told his team:

"The decision to end a television news career that began in 1968 (yes, we had TV back then) is incredibly difficult. You know that I like to work hard and cherish working with each of you."

IRW tips it hat to Mike Austerman, proprietor of the Michigan radio/TV website Mr. Austerman began Michiguide in 1997. I'm told that another website (now being developed) will replace IRW will let you know, once that website goes live.

Emmis Communications' Hot AC/WFNB (92.7fm, Brazil) adds two veteran Terre Haute broadcasters: Matt Luecking and Jamie Dawson. Mr. Dawson does mornings (6am until 10am), while Mr. Luecking does afternoons (3pm until 8pm). Both worked together at crosstown CHR/WMGI (100.7fm, Terre Haute) under prior ownership.

Today in Indiana Radio History

In 1983, 100.1fm, French Lick signs on.
