In the 1990's, Contemporary Media owner Michael Rice was jailed, and stripped of FCC radio licenses, for sexually abusing children. Rice has retained the licenses, but not control of the stations, while he appealed the case. IRW has
learned that the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear Rice's appeal of the FCC's character policy. In Indiana, Contemporary Media owns WBOW (640am, Terre Haute), WBUZ(AM) (1230am, Terre Haute), and WZZQ-FM (107.5fm, Terre Haute).
Several national publications report that Rice will be formally stripped of the licenses this June.
