Northcentral

The Christian Educational Association application for a station on 88.5fm in Rochester is returned by the FCC. This leaves two competing applications: American Family Association and Rochester Community Radio.

Eastcentral

Country/WPGW (100.9fm, Portland) raises power to 4600 watts on a new tower near the intersection of IN-26 and IN-67, on the west side of town.

Religious/WOEI (88.9fm, Union City) flips calls to WJYW.

Central

Some changes in the line-up at CHR/WZPL (99.5fm, Greenfield). Morning duo Steve King and Julie Patterson are on from 5am-9am, Greg Browning takes 9am-Noon and MD Dave Decker does Noon-3pm. The remainder of the lineup remains the same.

Lisa Ann Bye, night lady at Oldies/WGLD (104.5fm, Indianapolis) departs. Also at WGLD, Nancy May resigns her sales post to become GM at Artistic Media Partners' stations in Lafayette (WAZY/WGBD).

Tim Bonnell, last at AC/WENS (97.1fm, Shelbyville) is now at Country/WFMS (95.5fm, Indianapolis) as a part-timer.

Scott Selva, formerly part-time at Alternative/WRZX (103.3fm, Indianapolis) joins Classic Rock/WWVR (105.5fm, West Terre Haute) as Midday guy.

Tracey Sofiak joins Oldies/WGLD (104.5fm, Indianapolis) as an account executive.

Bob & Tom add WILZ (104.5fm) and WYLZ (100.9fm) in the Saginaw, Michigan metro, and KRQS (101.3fm) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Indianapolis Monthly magazine reports that a pirate is active in the Indianapolis area, near I-70 and Keystone Avenue. We hope to have more information on this in the next issue.

Southeast

Country/WRBI (103.9fm, Batesville) morning guy Chris Clare exits.

Southcentral

Condolences to the family and friends of Richard "Randy" Lloyd. Lloyd, 54, died in an apartment fire on April 22. He was a DJ at Hot AC/WBWB (96.7fm, Bloomington), where he did 12pm-6pm. Lloyd, known to many as "The Voice of Bloomington" had been at the station for over 20 of the 21 years WBWB has been on the air.

WCLJ (Channel 56, Bloomington) will broadcast its DTV transmission on Channel 56, also.

Southwest

With the departure of PD Paul Kenney at Hot AC/WRZQ (107.3fm, Greensburg), Jim Burgan takes afternoons for Kenney. The PD position remains unfilled.
