Just a reminder: The NAB 2014 Radio Show will be September 10 through September 12 in Indianapolis.

IRW extends our sincerest apologies to Mark Allen. With all the Monday changes, we overlooked that he is the new OM for the Adams Radio Group radio stations in Fort Wayne. Mr. Allen last programmed KIAI (Mason City, Iowa). Mr. Allen now programs Country/WBTU (93.3fm, Kendallville).

What else is new at the Adams Radio Group? Glad you asked:

Rhythmic CHR/WNHT (96.3fm, Churubusco) began a stunt format over the weekend. Here's a sample.

Tonight, Classic Rock/WXKE (103.9fm, Fort Wayne) will move to 96.3fm. Peter Ambrose at Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly says that JJ Fabini replaced Doc West as WXKE PD. Here's a sneak peek at the new logo.

Mr. Ambrose also reports that 103.9fm will soon upgrade to iBiquity's HD Radio. Now, Adams Radio Group has two FM translators: W245CA (96.9fm, Fort Wayne) and W277AK (103.3fm, Fort Wayne). Those translators could simulcast Adams' two AM properties: WGL (1250am, Fort Wayne) and WLYV (1450am, Fort Wayne), or 103.9fm HD subchannel(s).

103.9fm will take new call letters: WWFW, but won't launch a new format until later this month.

Country/WBTU (93.3fm, Kendallville) midday host Travis Walker exits along with Rhythmic CHR/WJFX (107.9fm, New Haven) night slammer Caden. Also, former Oasis Radio Group online guru Wes Teska exits.

Former "Wild 96.3" middayer Miss Janay replaces Caden in nights.

Jim Brady (Felton) passed away last Thursday. Mr. Felton programmed WLYV (1450am, Fort Wayne) and did mornings ("Uncle Felty") in the late 1960s. After Fort Wayne, he went to the famous CKLW in Windsor, Ontario. Mr. Felton was 67.

Teen Horizons Christian Outreach has a new LPFM CP for 94.5fm, licensed to North Manchester. The new call letters: WYLG-LP.

Where Are They Now? Former WJFX midday DJ Mia Amini will soon do middays on WXYY in Savannah, Georgia.

Talking Stick Communications sells its ESPN affiliate WAOR (95.7fm, Nappanee) for $925,000 to St. Joseph Catholic Radio Group, LLC Both groups signed a Local Operating Agreement, which will let 95.7fm flip its format earlier than the sale closing. Of note, the WAOR call letters and intellectual property remain with Talking Stick Communications, but where will they land?

Kankakee Valley Broadcasting remains hard at work building their new CP for 98.3fm, licensed to Culver. Now, it has call letters: WYMR.

Quincy Broadcasting's FOX affiliate WSJV-TV (Channel 28, Elkhart) welcomes Perry Boxx as News Director. Mr. Boxx last worked in Columbus, Georgia (WRBL-TV/News Director). Mr. Boxx replaces Ed Kral, who Quincy promoted to Station Manager.

After originally applying for an LPFM on 94.3fm, Table Setter Neighborhood Radio, Inc. earns a CP for an LPFM station WTSX-LP (104.9fm, Kokomo). As proposed, the LPFM will be at a transmitter site just east of N. Washington Street, where North Street crosses, on the north side of Kokomo.

Northwest Indiana Public Broadcasting's PBS affiliate WYIN-TV (Channel 56, Gary) ends its nightly local newscast. That means News Director Jerry Howard exits after nearly two years.

In 2009, Classic Rock/WMQX (96.7fm, Alexandria) and WMXQ (93.5fm, Hartford City) flipped formats to Classic Rock ("MAXimum Classic Rock") under under prior ownership. Woof Boom Radio recently split that simulcast. WMQX flips to a country format, under Woof Boom VP/OM Steve Lindell. For now, "96.7 Blake FM." will have no air personalities, but has a new website.

The University of Indianapolis' Classical-Jazz/WICR (88.7fm, Indianapolis) flip flops its format blocks: Jazz now airs from Noon until Midnight, and Classical music now airs from Midnight to Noon. When Jazz is on WICR, Classical will air on WICR-HD2 ("The Mirror Image"), and vice versa.

LIN Media's CBS affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) GM Jeff White exits. Mr. White became GSM in 1998, rising to station manager in 2003. In 2005, Mr. White became GM.

Emmis' Country/WLHK (97.1fm, Shelbyville) afternoon and early evening host JD Cannon becomes Music Director under PD Fritz Moser.

Dispatch Broadcast Group NBC affiliate WTHR (Channel 13, Indianapolis) welcomes Naomi Pescovitz as weekend morning anchor, starting July 9. Ms. Pescovitz last worked at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Since Midwest Communications turned in the 1300am, Terre Haute license to the FCC, the WIBQ calls move to their new 1230am, also licensed to Terre Haute.

Midwest Communications' Alternative/WXXR (95.9fm, Seelyville) flips format to Country and Western and changes call letters to WDKE The new "95.9fm Duke FM" uses Envision Radio Networks' "Legends" format. Former WXXR PD/midday host Storm Avery exits. Ms. Avery moves down US-41 and replaces Rusty James as PD and afternoons at South Central Communications' Country/WLFW (93.5fm, Chandler). Finally, here's the new 95.9FM Duke FM website.

Midwest Communications' Country/WDWQ (102.7fm, Terre Haute) PD Robb Reel exits to become OM/PD and mornings at Reising Radio Partners' Country/WYGB (100.3fm, Edinburgh). Mr. Reel replaces "Korn Country 100.3" PD Chris Woodbridge, who exits for a job outside of radio.

Nexstar NBC affiliate WTWO-TV (Channel 2, Terre Haute) and Mission Broadcasting ABC affiliate WAWV (Channel 38, Terre Haute) meteorologist Anne Elise Parks exits and goes west on I-70, joining St. Louis, Missouri FOX affiliate KTVI-TV and CW affiliate KPLR-TV. Ms. Parks will be on-air during the midday news KTVI-TV and weekend evenings on KPLR-TV.

Cumulus' WAYI (93.9fm, Sellersburg) ends its LMA with the religious WAY Media Network and goes silent. 93.9fm returns to its WLCL call letters. WAY Media flips the call letters of their WAYG (104.3fm, Charlestown) to WAYI.

Where Are They Now? Former then-WRVI and then-WLSY-FM (now WFIA-FM) GM Mark Halverson becomes the new VP/GM at Journal Broadcast Group in Omaha, Nebraska.

Reising Radio Partners' Oldies/WXCH (102.9fm, Columbus) adds "Super 60s Sunday" from 5pm until 7pm.

We're sad to report the death of DLC Media, Inc. GM Brad Deetz after a motorcycle crash and subsequent heart attack. Mr. Deetz also hosted mornings on Vincennes University's Classic Rock/WFML (96.7fm, Vincennes; operated by DLC Media, Inc.) Before joining DLC Media in 2007, he was OM for The Original Company and mornings at their Country/WWBL (106.5fm, Washington). Mr. Deetz began in radio at age 16 with WBTU in Fort Wayne.

South Central Communications' Country/WLFW (93.5fm, Chandler) PD Rusty James becomes PD/afternoons of sister AC/WIKY (104.1fm, Evansville), replacing Mark Elliott. Mr. Elliott now programs for Cumulus in Toledo, Ohio as their OM of WRQN and WWWM and PD of WRQN.
