Before we begin, we'll pass along this latest statewide story.

This fall, Indiana's public broadcasting TV and radio stations will begin sharing content. This new way of content sharing will connect eight TV stations and nine radio stations, using the Internet, through a "hub" at WFYI Radio and TV in Indianapolis. As an example, this new model will let an Indiana public radio or TV station broadcast a local event (i.e. high school sports), and share that audio or video with another Indiana public radio or TV station.

Northeast

Travis Walker takes nights at 90s Hits/WHPP (106.3fm, Columbia City).

Eastcentral

Rodgers Broadcasting closes on its $42,000 purchase of translator W213AO (90.5fm, New Paris, Ohio). Educational Media Foundation formerly owned the translator. The translator will change frequencies to 101.1fm. Broker on the sale was Tricia Burkhart of John Pierce & Co.

Central

Indianapolis TV viewers from the 1960s through 1980s lost a legend on Sunday. Bob Carter spent many years scaring (or humoring) his audience, in between "B" rated horror movies as the ghoulish Sammy Terry on "Shock Theater" and "Nightmare Theater" on WTTV (Channel 4, Indianapolis). Mr. Carter dressed similar to Dracula, but with a real pet spider on set. Mr. Carter was 83. After college (Millikin University and Syracuse University), Mr. Carter was on the air in Peoria, Illinois, then Fort Wayne, before leaving for the bright lights of Indianapolis. After leaving WTTV, he owned the Family Music Center (music store) on North Shadeland. A public memorial will be this Friday from 4pm until 8pm at Singleton Mortuary, located at 7602 Madison Avenue, in Indianapolis.

Westcentral

DLC Media's Oldies/WAXI (104.9fm, Rockville) now streams: www.trueoldieswaxi.com

Southcentral

Tasha Mann exits after twenty years in the GM chair at White River Broadcasting/Columbus (WCSI, WINN, WKKG and WWWY). Also at WKKG, Kelsey James joins Scott Michaels for "Mornings with Scott and Kelsey." Ms. James arrives from Goshen College's highly successful WGCS (91.1fm, Goshen), where she hosted mornings and was the station manager for "91.1 The Globe" under faculty advisor Jason Samuel.

Indiana University NPR affiliate WFIU (103.7fm, Bloomington) changed its schedule yesterday. NPR's Morning Edition now begins at 5AM.

This weekend, WFIU will add:

"Living on Earth" (Saturday at 7AM), "Ask Me Another" (Saturday at 1pm), "Wits" (Saturday at 2pm), "The Dinner Party Download" (Saturday at 3pm), "The Thistle and Shamrock" (Saturday at 8PM), "Fresh Air Weekend" (Sunday at 1pm) "Vinyl Café," (Sunday at 2pm) "World of Opera" (Sunday at 6pm). WFIU drops BBC World Service and The Metropolitan Opera.

Southwest

Japser on the Air, Inc.'s AC/WITZ-FM (104.7fm, Jasper) will soon renovate their on air studio, with a new console and locally built cabinetry.

Today in Indiana Radio History

In 1989, 102.3fm, New Carlisle signs on. Today, it's WSMM. In 1991, that radio station changed formats from country to religious.
