A lightning strike at one of the towers of Federated Media's stations briefly knocked News-Talk/WOWO (1190am, Fort Wayne) off the air on Wednesday. IRW heard that one component in the board got smoked. Chief Engineer Mogan David and
his staff had WOWO back on the air in less than 5 minutes. No damage was reported to the other 3 stations in the building (WMEE, WONO, and WQHK).
Northcentral
Country/WBYT (100.7fm, Elkhart) PD Ralph Cherry exits. Replacing him is Tom Oakes. Oakes is the former PD of KMXM in Omaha, Nebraska (You might recognize KMXM as the station formerly known as WOW-FM). Oakes is reunited with former
WOW-FM APD & morning man, now "B-100" morning man Tom Scott.
Central
Here's the weekday airstaff lineup for Spanish/WEDJ (107.1fm, Danville)

Sports/WNDE (1260am, Indianapolis) afternoon host Mark Patrick is signed by FOX Sports Radio Network in morning drive. The show will originate out of WNDE, making it the second syndicated show to originate from Clear Channel's
Indianapolis facilities on Falls Creek Road (the other? Bob & Tom). Patrick starts his 5am - 8am (Eastern) show on Monday.
A Bob & Tom affiliate update: They're now on at KHYT (Tucson, Arizona), WRDU (Raleigh, North Carolina), KZRX (Amarillo, Texas), and KZPS (Dallas, Texas). They're not on at WOCT in Baltimore, Maryland, and the simulcast is over in
Ocean City, Maryland, so you can only hear them on WRBG, not WGBG.
Where Are They Now? Former WGRL morning producer & afternoon guy Brent Lee starts on Monday as morning man alongside Meredith at WBWN near Bloomington, Illinois.

That's it for this issue. See you in a week!
