Fort Wayne RadioWatch: September 28, 1996
The only major event of note is the brand new B-106...erm....make that "Storm 106...The Right Music Right Now." According to The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette, the new format is described by PD Trip Simmons as "modern adult
contemporary." The playlist is primarily composed of new, softer alternative rock (i.e. "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand" by the Primitive Radio Gods), along with older alternative tracks ("Bizarre Love
Triangle" by New Order and "Shout" by Tears For Fears)
Target demo is 25-44 males & females, according to Simmons. The Bob & Sheri, syndicated from WLNK in Charlotte, North Carolina, takes mornings from 5am - 8am. Natalie Lovett is Storm's local producer and newslady. Lovett stays on
until 10am as a DJ. Doug Jacobs, formerly overnights at WLDE takes middays 10am - 3pm. PD Simmons is on 3pm - 7pm. Rounding out the lineup is former WAJI overnight guy Ace Nickles doing 7pm - Midnight.
That's it for this issue! See you in two weeks...
