Starting Monday October 3, Ray Grossman will succeed the late Tom Berg in mornings (5am until 9am, Central Time) at Kankakee Valley Broadcasting's Hot AC/WKVI-FM (99.3fm, Knox). Mr. Grossman worked in South Bend (WNDV-FM, WAOR-FM), Elkhart (WFRN, WSJV-TV), Warsaw (WAWC) and Benton Harbor, Michigan (WHFB-FM).
Eastcentral
South Madison Community School's CHR/WEEM (91.7fm, Pendleton) adds new GM Chris Carter. Mr. Carter last programmed and hosted afternoons at Cumulus' Country/WMDH-FM (102.5fm, New Castle).
Central
After covering Indiana politics for over three decades, Media General's CW affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis) political reporter Jim Shella will retire after the November general election. Mr. Shella covered Indiana politics longer than any other Indiana TV reporter. Mr. Shella started his journalism career as a reporter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
After three years as morning anchor of "Fox 59 Morning News," Kristin Kane will exit at the end of this week from Tribune Broadcasting's FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis). Ms. Kane explained her decision on air. Ms. Kane began her broadcasting career at WCBS-TV in New York City. Before arriving in Indianapolis, Ms. Kane worked in Orlando, Florida for "Central Florida News 13", the local cable news channel.
Westcentral
DLC Media purchases WAKO(AM) and WAKO-FM (910am, 103.1fm, both Lawrenceville, Illinois). Both stations now simulcast, airing the Westwood One Lite Hits format. New owner Dave Crooks changed the top hour newscast to CBS News.
