New Castle Broadcasting Service, Inc. LPFM WHHC-LP (107.5fm, New Castle) sends in an FCC application, proposing a move to 100.1fm. In their filing, they cite "horrendous interference" from Emmis' translator W298BB (107.5fm, Indianapolis).

Central

Dave Smiley, morning host at Entercom's CHR/WZPL (99.5fm, Greenfield) had his automobile broken into yesterday. Among the stolen items: A laptop, a GoPro, and his headphones. Mr. Smiley posted surveillance video, hoping someone will help him ID the thief.

Speaking of videos, Tribune Broadcasting's FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) weekend morning news anchor Zach Myers played the drums on "Fox 59 Morning News Weekend." Mr. Myers also once worked as a morning news anchor, producer and reporter at what was then an NBC affiliate: WISE-TV in Fort Wayne.

Southwest

Withers Broadcasting Company sells Oldies/WROY (1460am, Carmi, Illinois) and 250 watt translator W229AU (93.7fm, Fairfield, Illinois) along with 50,000 watt Country/WRUL (97.3, Carmi, Illinois) for $390,000 cash to Mark Lange's The Original Company, Inc. WROY is a 1000 watt daytime station that drops down to 85 watts at night.
