At CHR/WMEE (97.3fm, Fort Wayne) Geno Burgess is promoted to morning show producer for the Rick Dees in the Morning show. Also, he'll be APD under OM/PD John O'Rourke.
Mark DePrez is now GSM for Country/WQHK (105.1fm, Decatur). He'll continue to be the Director of Sales for all of Federated Media's stations at Maples Road: WOWO, WONO, WQHK, and WMEE. Also in the goings on at Maples, AE Jim Tighe is
promoted to GSM duties at News-Talk/WOWO (1190am, Fort Wayne)
Where are they now? Zack Skylar, formerly afternoons at Oldies/WLDE (101.7fm, Fort Wayne) is now the new assistant producer for the Scott & Erica morning show at Mix 105.1 (WOMX) in Orlando, Florida.
Where are they now, Part 2? Former WOWO/WONO sales guy Steve Warden heads back to journalism, as sports writer for The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette.
Northwest
A note from the TV side: Cutbacks at WLFI-TV (Channel 8, Lafayette [CBS]) have forced out VP/GM Mike Piggott and 16 other full- and part-time employees. Piggott has been VP/GM since December 1998, but has been at WLFI since 1984.
According to The Lafayette Journal and Courier, the positions were eliminated, effect 20 November, to reduce duplication between departments. LIN Television (owners of WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, and WISH-TV in Indianapolis, among
others), purchased WLFI from the Toledo Blade Co., in December 1999.
Where are they now? John Flint, former OM/PD at Oldies/WILO & AC/WSHW (1570am, 99.7fm; both Frankfort) was recently named PD at KIXY in San Angelo, Texas.
Central
A format change in the Anderson area, as Hot AC WHTI/WHTY (96.7fm, Alexandria; 93.5fm, Hartford City) flip formats to classic rock as "The Max". Tom Willhoite is the new PD of "The Max."
Doug Zook is new to mornings at News-Talk/WHBU (1240am, Anderson). Zook was formerly the GSM at WHBU, but is now the GM, morning host, and will do some sales.
New to mornings at Classic Rock/WKLU (101.9fm, Brownsburg) is Dan Somers.
Bob & Tom news: They move stations in two California markets: KHOP to KHKK in Modesto; and KKDJ to KDFO in Bakersfield. Also, they add WFXZ in Wilmington, North Carolina. Finally, the cat is out of the bag concerning Louisville:
They'll be heard on Classic Rock/WQMF (95.7fm, Jeffersonville).
Westcentral
Dave Kirsch is the new GM at Alternative/WZZQ (107.5fm, Terre Haute). He was last at Country/WACF (98.5fm, Paris, Illinois/Terre Haute). Also, Kyleigh Todd replaces "Little Timmy" in middays.
Southeast
Modern AC/WZTR (98.9fm, Salem) flips to all Christmas music. Also, they debut the Rick Dees in the Morning Show, from KIIS-FM in Los Angeles.
Southcentral
Greg Scott Fisher departs as PD and afternoon guy at Country/WQKC (93.7fm, Seymour). After almost 11 years at WQKC, he'll be entering the pastoral ministry, at a methodist church near Vincennes. Back at WQKC, Carol McIntosh will
take MD and Fisher's afternoon spot.
Jeff Weber departs as GSM at News-Talk/WGCL and AAA/WTTS (1370am, 92.3fm; both Bloomington). He'll be GSM at WZBA in Baltimore, Maryland.
Southwest
AC/WDKS (106.1fm, Newburgh) adds the syndicated Rick Dees in the Morning show, from KIIS-FM in Los Angeles. Dees replaces the syndicated Bob & Sheri show.
