Some interesting food for thought:

5 Radio Station Contests That Should Be Permanently Retired.

More tomorrow.

Here we go:

With the sale of WAOR (95.7fm, Nappanee) by Talking Stick Communications to St. Joseph Catholic Radio Group, the 95.7fm call letters change to WRDI.

Federated Media's ESPN affiliate Sports/WLEG (102.7fm, Elkhart) becomes WAOR. (The WLEG call letters stood for "Ligonier, Elkhart and Goshen.")

After just over three years with Tribune Broadcasting's FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis), general and investigative reporter Ann Keil exits and becomes a reporter at WOFL-TV in Orlando, Florida.

Sarkes Tarzian's N-T/WGCL (1370am, Bloomington) and translator W240AT (95.9fm, Bloomington) moves its FM translator to 96.1fm. It's now W241CD.

Something we missed from this summer: Bob Taraski died. Known on air as "Bob Tracy," he worked in Indianapolis (WNDE) and Fort Wayne (WMEE) among other places. We're unsure when and in what capacity he worked at either radio station. He left radio in 1997.
