Sarkes Tarzian's Classic Hits/WLDE (101.7fm, Fort Wayne) completes their move to a new transmitter site. The new site is south and east of the former Reed Road (Fort Wayne) transmitter site. The new site also means a power increase from 3000 watts to 6000 watts (both at 328 feet). The new tower is an ERI self-supporter and the transmitter building houses a brand new Nautel GV7.5 transmitter, which replaced a Continental 815B (serial number 9) at the former transmitter site. Also, WLDE sister station Hot AC/WAJI (95.1fm, Fort Wayne) replaced its Continental 816R transmitter with a brand new Nautel GV30. WAJI didn't move transmitter sites, remaining on the west side of Fort Wayne.
Federated Media sells its Sports/WNIL (1290am, Niles, Michigan) to Marion Williams for $225,000. In Michiana, Mr. Williams owns Rhythmic CHR/WSMK (99.1fm, Buchanan, Michigan). Exclusive broker on the deal: George W. Kimble of Kozacko Media Services.
Fort Wayne Catholic Radio Group's Religious/WHPP (106.3fm, Columbia City) changes call letters to WRDF.
In Indianapolis, Sean McGarvy arrives as Managing Editor at the Tribune TV combo of FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) and CW affiliate WTTV-TV (Channel 4, Bloomington)/WTTK-TV (Channel 29, Kokomo). Mr. McGarvey was the Assignment Manager for Fox News Channel in Washington, DC.
Where Are They Now? Former WTHR-TV Senior Executive Producer Jeff Benscoter now works in Kansas City, as the Assistant News Director of Content for Hearst's KMBC/KCWE-TV.
