96.9fm signed on in 2002.

In August 2000, this station swapped calls with the 89.9fm in Marengo. 96.9fm launched as a short lived adult standards station in late December 2002, going silent in early January 2003. It signed on that Summer (July) as an easy listening station. Two weeks later, it switched formats again to AC. Roughly a month later (September), it flipped formats again to Hot AC as "Today's Best Hits."
