93.1fm signed on December 5, 1960.

WIBC-FM (Take 1)

Studios located at 2835 N. Illinois Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208 (Telephone: Walnut 4-2661). Owned by Fairbanks Broadcasting Co., Inc. WIBC-FM had 17,500 watts, later increased to 24,000 watts (at 360 feet). WIBC-FM became WNAP-FM on July 22, 1968.

WNAP-FM (Take 1)

Owned by Fairbanks Broadcasting Co., Inc. On January 1, 1970, 93.1fm went stereo. WNAP increased power to 29,500 watts (at 370 feet). Later, WNAP increased power to 12,600 watts (Horizontal) and 9800 watts (Vertical) at 1022 feet. The antenna height lowered to 990 feet (and the power later increased to 50,000 watts. In 1983, Fairbanks Broadcasting Co., Inc. sold WIBC(AM) and WNAP-FM to Blair Broadcasting. When Blair bought the stations, they moved both WIBC(AM) and WNAP-FM to 9292 N. Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46260 (Telephone: 317.844.7200). In the mid-1980s, WNAP aired an AC format. In mid-1987, Blair Broadcasting sold WIBC(AM) and WNAP-FM to Sconnix Broadcasting Co. (Horizon Broadcasting, Inc.) as part of a $152 million deal. WNAP briefly became WEAG in the mid 1980s.

WEAG-FM

Top 40 format. Owned by Blair Broadcasting. Studios located at 9292 N. Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46260 (Telephone: 317.844.7200). WEAG-FM became WKLR-FM in the mid to late 1980s. The WEAG call letters lasted maybe a year or two.

WKLR-FM

Owned by Sconnix Broadcasting Co. (Horizon Broadcasting, Inc.) Classic hits format. WKLR changed calls to WNAP in 1994. In June 1994, Sconnix Broadcasting Co. (Horizon Broadcasting, Inc.) sold WIBC(AM) and WKLR-FM for $26 million to Emmis Communications Corp.

WNAP-FM (Take 2)

In 1994, the station changed calls to WNAP. Owned by Emmis Communications Corp. with studios located at 9292 N. Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46260 (Telephone: 317.844.7200) In 1998, the Emmis Communications Corp. moved to One EMMIS Plaza, 40 Monument Circle, Suite 600, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3016. WNAP flipped formats from rock to CHR on March 28, 2000. Soon after, they flipped calls to WNOU.

WNOU-FM

WNOU aired a CHR format. In 2007, Emmis Communications Corp. sold the intellectual property of "Radio Now" to Radio One, Inc.

WEXM-FM

WEXM was a placeholder set of call letters on 93.1fm from roughly October 2007 until December 27, 2007. During that time, 93.1fm aired Christmas Music from the end of CHR-formatted "Radio Now" on Monday October 8, 2007 until WIBC-FM debuted on December 27, 2007.
