103.9fm signed on May 6, 1976. There are two very distinct incarnations of WXKE.

WXKE-FM (Take 1)

Named WXKE after the Jaguar E-Type (XK-E) automobile, WXKE signed on as "Album 104." Known as "Rock 104," WXKE aired a Rock music format from its signon through October 1, 2002.

WYLT-FM

WYLT debuted on October 24, 2002 with an AC format. The AC format ended in late August 2003, when a Hot AC format debuted under PD Dave Eubanks. On April 9, 2004, "My 103.9" segued from Hot AC to Pop CHR. Their website was http://www.my1039fm.com. Their new moniker was "My 103.9, Fort Wayne's Hit Music Channel." WYLT was purchased, along with its sister stations by Summit City Radio Group in July 2004. The last day of air personalities on "My 103.9" was August 18, 2006, with the station then signing off at the end of the day on August 31, 2006. On September 1, 2006, 103.9fm returned to its prior Rock format, under its former WXKE call letters.

WXKE-FM (Take 2)

Their website was http://www.rock104radio.com. On Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Midnight, WXKE moved its format and call letters to 96.3fm. 103.9fm and 96.3fm began a simulcast until Thursday June 19, 2014.

WWFW-FM

On Wednesday June 18, 2014, 103.9 went off the air, the antenna came down on the Harris Road transmitter site, and was moved to a tower on the Hillegas Road tower farm. 103.9fm returned to the air at 8pm on Friday June 20, 2014. 103.9fm then ran two hours of telephone hold music and announcements. At 10:39PM, the new "Soft Rock 103.9" launched, with new WWFW call letters WWFW. On August 14, 2015, WWFW changed their format from Soft AC to AC.
